Our Story & Purpose
At Inkachiriasqa Treks, we were born with the vision to redefine how the Andean mountain range in Cusco is explored. We believe that traveling isn't just about accumulating destinations or taking rushed photographs; it is about actively immersing oneself in history, environmental respect, and the rich cultural heritage of sacred mountains.
We specialize in the SALKAÑAN Route – The Untamed Path, a unique proposal designed exclusively for discerning, conscious travelers looking to step away from crowded mass-tourism routes and connect with the pure essence of the Andes.
The Origin of Our Route
Our journeys take place within the Qoyllor Salkantay Conservation Area, a strategic territory dedicated to protecting thousands of hectares of high-Andean ecosystems, glacial water sources, and exceptional biodiversity.
At the foot of the imposing Apu Salkantay—one of the most sacred and revered mountains in Inca worldview—we design itineraries that blend high-mountain trekking with a mystical and historical journey. Along the way, hikers not only marvel at the beauty of Inkachiriasqa Lake, but also traverse mystical landscapes such as the Sacred Qoyllor Lake and the Lake of Conception (or Fertility Lake).
